"If I can't have them, no one can" is the motto of yandere archetype characters. The yandere is a dere type that combines "yanderu," meaning sick, and "dere," meaning lovey-dovey. Together, it creates someone so lovesick that they're willing to do absolutely anything to end up with the one they love.
Yandere anime characters are fixated on their love interest. On the outside, they act as if they're kind and sweet characters to everyone, but on the inside, they're willing to go as far as murder if someone gets in their way. Often, yandere characters become fan favorites even though they're incredibly scary.
